An Incomplete Guide For Places To Eat For Lunch

Eating as an essential part of life itself. However, we're in downtown Cleveland, so that gives us more options than the dried beef and beans our forefathers may have had to eat. So why not enjoy ourselves a little.  Here's a small guide to all the places I have been and what I think about them.

Dynamite - Located directly across the street from Dwellworks, this stand offers the normal American essentials of burgers, fries, and milkshakes. They also have good appetizers, however they do not offer much beyond the scope of that. The food itself is very good. For the price it's not filet mignon but it's good, texture and flavor is good, fries and milkshakes are very good, everything I've had there has been good value for the price.

Moko - This sandwich shop located just east of Dwellworks, inside the (Hallay??) building just before you reach the playhouse square doors to the left.  Once inside, it's a small shop that has decent variety of sandwiches and salads.  Salads are prepared ahead of time, sandwiches are made as you order. The selection of sandwiches are very nice, ranging from a turkey avocado, to a BLT, roast beef, chicken, and vegetable sandwiches.  The kettle chips always served with the chips are extremely good, and usually spending $7 bucks there you can't go wrong with what you get.

Juji's - This small restaurant/shop is located inside the first building just after east 12th on the right. You can either sit down and be waited on or take food to go. The selection, for being a small shop is very good. Theirs sandwiches, salads, burgers, pasta dishes, pita and hummus, specials seemingly everyday, breakfast items, a lot of variety. The price are very good compared to everything else as well. Finally, they give you a lot of food for the price, and it's usually hot and tastes good for the price.

Subway - Across the street from Dwellworks past Dynamite. It's like any other Subway

PHuel Café - Across the street inside the same building US Bank is in, going down East 14th st. Being that they just opened, a lot of changes my come to the menu. They have a nice variety of items there, however the food sizes seem to be a little small. The prices are a little high as well for what you get. However the quality of food seems to be good, they go for a more healthy side, which may diminish the taste, but for what it is it's OK. I would like them to lower the price a little more before I can recommend them.

Aladdin's - Located down E. 14th, making a right on Carenige. This Greek shop has sandwiches and Gyro's, as well as things like Hummus, Pita, international drinks and breads, as well as candies and other snacks. The price is very good, food is very good, and variety is excellent.  Wait time on food, for as busy as they are sometimes, is very good as well. Would recommend checking it out.

Captain Tony's - Located down East 9th over by the Market, This small pizza shop has a decent variety of pizzas, price is OK, however it tastes excellent. Compared to other pizzas I have it's top 10, worth a look.

Burgers 2 Beer - Located down Euclid over by Cleveland State (I think by E. 17th), this restaurant has, as you can guess, burgers, beers, and other sandwiches.  The variety is very wide, price is decent and wait time can sometimes be a little long. Food however, is very good. Fries and salad are good, they also have a small pickle bar and coleslaw, that is very good also. If you like Burgers give it a look.

Rothchilds Farms - This small restaurant located across from Dwellworks by E.14th has a decent selection of items, as well as ice cream. Prices are OK for what you get, food is good, and usually not a long wait. Ice cream shop I've had once but was very good. It feels like just another place to eat.

Vinnie's - An Italian Resturant located in the New Arcade, it has a selection of pizzas, pastas, salads and subs. The prices are good for what you get, and the variety is excellent. Sometimes there is a long wait, but the food always tastes good. They give you a lot for what you get also.

Starbucks - Located across Dwellworks next to Rothchilds Farms, it's like any other Starbucks. Maybe a little more priced because it's downtown.
Rating: 3.75/5.

The Market - Located on E.9, the market provides a ton of options in terms of selection. They have subs, sandwiches, pizzas, burgers, salads, some pasta, etc. You can make your own pizzas, salad options, etc. The food will usually be about $10. Despite how busy they get the food comes out on time from what you'd expect, and is very good. Feels like you're getting your moneys worth and I would recommend.

Walnut Wednesdays - Food trucks that come down E.9 every Wednesday from 11-2.  a lot of variety in terms of the trucks involved. What I've had has been good so far, definitely worth a look once. Just make sure to have cash as not all vendors do cards.
Rating: 4/5

Sung's House - Sushi Place located in the building next to Playhouse Square. Menu seems limited, however food is very good, and it's priced like most other sushi places. If you like sushi definitely give it a look, if not you won't be missing anything.
Rating: 4/5

Cleveland State University Buffet - Located inside CSU's student center on the 2nd floor. Having been a student there I've been to the buffet many times. For about $9, you get a nice variety of options that is very fresh. Menu items can change every hours and every time there feels different. The quality of food is very good for the price also.

I'll add to this as I try new places, for now I hope this gives a better view on what to try and eat downtown!
